Yesterday as Santa Ana winds blew across Southern California, wildfires broke out in many places. From Irvine, I could see a large portion of the sky was contaminated by smoke. The temperature went up to 100 F (about 37 C). I took some pictures at our observatory, and then went swimming as it was so hot.
