Ingredients (2-3 servings):
1.2 cups of jasmine rice
9.6 cups of water
1 lb sliced meat (chicken can be used directly, while pork or beef needs some advanced processing)
6 Chinese black mushrooms, sliced
3 tablespoons of cooking wine
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
2 teaspoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of grated ginger
(optional) salt to taste
(optional) green onions
(optional) cilantro
(optional) white pepper powders
Tools:
a stove
a pot with a lid
a scoop
a bowl for seasoning the meat
Directions:
Add the meat, the cooking wine, the soy sauce, the sugar, and the grated ginger in the bowl. Mix uniformly and then set aside.
Boil the 9.6 cups of water in the pot. Meanwhile rinse the rice.
Add the rice in the boiled water and stir.
Turn down (NOT OFF) the stove and cover the pot with the lid.
Cook for 30 minutes. Stir the soup to prevent sticking on the bottom. Then cook for another 10 minutes.
Add the seasoned meat in the pot. Keep stirring for 10 minutes.
Add the salt to taste. Also add the green onions, cilantro.
Turn off the stove. Serve with the white pepper powders on the side.
