Erik said: guess if the moon is going to be a full moon or a new moon?
I said: it's going to be full, because the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is one of China's most famous traditional festivals, is coming very soon. This festival is always on the 15th day of the 8th month of lunar calendar, which is always a full moon day.
I don't know why there's a theater in the desert.
After a little walk around, we had a great BBQ by the hut. The best part is that a lovely little kangaroo rat joined us:
He's running around us, eating the food pieces we unintentionally dropped, and warming himself by the fire, which amused us again and again.
It's pretty dry in the desert. I was waken up by thirst a few times and consumed a whole bottle of water at night. The first time I woke up, I looked at the watch and saw both hands aligned roughly vertically, so I thought it's about 6 o'clock. When I woke up for the 2nd time, I thought it should be about 7 or 8. I heard people talking outside the tent, which sort of confirmed my thought. When I looked at the cellphone for the exact time, it displayed 2:17am. "Oh, crap, the cellphone's broken." I thought. But when I looked at my watch, it also read 2:17am. So obviously I made a mistake the first time I woke up. It should be 11:30 or 12:30, which looked that both hands were vertically.
